My Favorite Bowls
Spring 2023
Ceramic Bowls; Mag-White, Squid Ink, and Rutile Blue Glaze, on Mac10 Throwing Clay.
These bowls served as a practice of delicacy and subtle color usage. A soft Mac10 clay allowed for the gentle manipulation of the bowls to achieve the simple shapes.
Mexican Water Vessels
Spring 2023
Slab-Built Water Vessels; Dakota Red Clay, hand-built from slab templates. Glazed in Glossy Black and Oatmeal.
This slab-work project allowed me a chance to practice deliberate planning, and taught a valuable lesson about dynamic materials and moisture control.
Salmon Cutting Board
Summer 2020
End-Grain Cutting Board; Made from Black Walnut and Maple, then finished and sealed with mineral oil and beeswax.
This cutting board was an excellent opportunity to practice shop techniques, craftsmanship, and project management.
